Mother Sells Child For Shopping

Mother Sells Child For Shopping
BY TAIWO FAROTIMI
She is a mother, blessed with a child she has had for 19 months. And there is no proof that she is in want. But Ms Yu, a young Chinese mother sold Huahua, the innocent little girl to two persons at 5,800 pounds sterling (50,000 Yuan in local currency).
The collaborators known only by their saw names, Wei, a woman and Li, a man struck the deal at a railway station in the province known as Henen. Yu later raised a false alarm, claiming that her child was missing. After she reported the incident to the police, an investigation was launched with the police combing the area and reviewing the CCTV footage.
When investigators discovered that she willingly surrendered the child to a couple, they confronted her with the facts. That was not the only thing that gave her out to the security. Ms Yu, shortly after her account was credited with the money, went on a shopping spree, buying cosmetics among other things. The police discovered that she had spent 700 pounds before they became suspicious of her. She thereafter cooperated with the police, called Wei and Li, as suggested by security officers. The two suspects agreed to pay extra 1,200 pounds (10,000 Yuan), apparently to keep the child. They were arrested by the police where they attempted to make up, and Huahua rescued.
The mother too was arrested and taken to custody for collaborating with suspected child traffickers, while the child was handed over to the father.
