At a rally organised by the All Progressives Congress, APC, an unknown assailant, who dressed as a policeman released shots. Dr Kayode Fayemi, the governorship candidate in the coming election; Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State and Opeyemi Bamidele escaped death.
However, Bamidele sustained leg injury and was rushed to the hospital.
Unfortunately, one fatality was recorded.
The governorship election in Ekiti State has been slated for July 14. All Nigerians are watching with baited breath as the day approaches, even as both PDP and APC see it as a battle that will give no quarter, a do-or-die affair. Now one soul is dead!
