Buhari Celebrates Super Eagles

Even before they approached the entrance of the changing room, the Super Eagles had started receiving messages of congratulations. Nigerians are delighted that they humbled Iceland and earned themselves a place in the World Cup series. The first message came from President Muhammadu Buhari.
In it the president congratulated them for the defeat on Friday of Iceland, which assures their continued participation in the ongoing World Cup events in Russia.
The President is particularly delighted at the confidence, discipline, team-work and indomitable spirit displayed by the young Nigerian players.
He however urges them not to limit themselves but sustain the current winning momentum by going all out against their last group opponent, Argentina, on Tuesday next week.
He said, “I am confident that if our players believe in themselves, they can qualify out of their difficult group and even go very far in the tournament,” President Buhari said in a press release signed by Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity) adding: “With determination, nothing is impossible.”
The President also implores Nigerians to continue to rally round the Nigerian ambassadors with their prayers and other forms of support.
