These are certainly not the best of times for Pharaoh’s of Egypt striker, Mohamed Salah. Egypt’s early ouster from the World Cup became a big albatross to the Liverpool superstar who had arrived Cairo for a short holiday. But rather than enjoy his well-deserved rest, he was forced to call local police as fans swarmed his family home.
Salah returned to Egypt after his World Cup dream came to an abrupt end this week. And hundreds of fans gathered around his house after his address was published online. Fans were seen taking pictures with Salah as the street was jammed with cars.
The scene would have snowballed into public disturbance but the local police eventually cordoned off the street to allow the soccer icon and his family move to a new but undisclosed location.
While Egypt’s World Cup adventure ended in disappointment, Salah still managed to score twice in the two games he participated in.
Feelers from Egypt reveal that Salah may have to cut short his stay in Cairo and return to Liverpool for their pre-season training immediately.
