The Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has directed Chairman of the League Management Company, LMC, Shehu Dikko, and the Chief Operating Officer, Salihu Abubakar, to step aside following their committal to prison.
Justice Ishaku Kunda had, in 2017, committed Dikko and Abubakar to the Jos Federal Prison for disobedience to the orders of the court.
hey were to be committed to prison for 14 days in the first instance until they purge themselves of the alleged disobedience.
These were contained in a press statement issued by Victor Iroele, Senior Special Assistant to the NFF President.
According to the statement, Shehu Dikko is being investigated by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development as directed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for alleged financial corruption and sundry issues triggered by a petition of ethical administration of the League, and Nigeria Football Federation.
Victor Iroele said in the light of this development, the Executive Committee of the Federation had no choice but to comply with the orders of the High Court of Justice sitting in Jos.
