Super Eagles goalkeeper, Karl Ikeme, has announced his retirement from football, a few months after he survived leukaemia operation and rehabilitation.
The 32-year old Nigeria international and Wolves of England defender has been undergoing kemotherapy since and must have been advised by his doctors to quit football.
Ikeme who has been with Wolves for his entire career, making more than 200 appearances for the club disclosed that retiring from football is a difficult decision but his health is more important.
The hugely built goalie featured in the Eagles till his last match in 2016 World Cup qualifier against Zambia in Ndola.
In June, Ikeme said he was in “complete remission” after “a tough year and intense chemotherapy”.
