Iwobi to Sign New Arsenal Contract

Nigeria’s international star, Alex Iwobi, will re-sign a long time contract with Arsenal next week, The Crest can reveal.

Arsenal new coach, Unai Emery, confirmed in Singapore on Friday that he was confident “Alex will re-sign for us”.

The boss insists he is considering and assessing every player to select the best for a new season.

Iwobi has been a subject of summer transfer rumour to Lazio in Italy as pundits argue that his place would be on the bench next season if he remains with the brand new Arsenal team. But Emery says every player will have a role in the new Arsenal.

He said: “I have the information. I want to work with the players first. This week, Mesut, Elneny and Iwobi are starting to work with us and our first impression is very good with them. My information is that he is going to sign and continue with us.”

Also speaking on the new signings the former PSG manager declared: “Every day, I’m not only thinking about the new players. All players are important, young players have the opportunity to work with us and to show their quality. The new players are happy at this moment while they’re working. Every player for me is the same, and then I will find the best performers, the best chance to work with confidence. I’m not looking at just one player, I’m looking at every player.”

Iwobi had an unimpressive outing with the Eagles at the Russia 2018 World Cup but he accused team handler, Gernot Rohr, of using him in wrong position.
