The seeming acrimony that engulfed the All Progressive Congress (APC) after the party’s primaries across the country recently may be nipped in the bud soon as President Mohammadu Buhari has taken over the reconciliation of all aggrieved persons in all the country’s geo-political zones.
Aso Villa has become a beehive of activity since the APC primaries as governors, senators, House of Representatives members and state houses of assembly members have had their time respectively, meeting with the President and expressing dissatisfaction with the conduct of the primaries.
Some state governors including those of Zamfara, Ogun and Ondo have openly berated and lambasted Party chairman Adams Oshiomhole for doing a shoddy job during the exercise.
Special Assistant to the President, Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina told The Crest that the President is worried over the development revealing that he has put machinery in motion to restore confidence of all aggrieved members of the party.
Adesina said that the President would personally address those who are angry from the six geo-political zones of the country adding that the President would be meeting with the aggrieved persons individually for him to have a fore-knowledge of what led to the crises.
Senior Special Assistant to President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Shehu Garba also confirm the development adding that the President has set up a five-man committee to look into the crises and advise him.
The Crest however learnt that the committee had since met and submitted its findings to the President who has scheduled a meeting of stakeholders at the Villa on Tuesday.
“The President is aware of the urgency of the situation and he is dealing with the matter squarely,” Garba said. “He is deeply involved in how to resolve the post-primaries crises as we can see in some of the President’s activities recently.”
