FAYEMI HAS BEGUN REBUILDING EKITI, MEETING MINISTERS, DEVELOPMENT PARTNERS – DARAMOLA

BY ABIODUN NEJO

Former federal lawmaker and chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon Bimbo Daramola, has said Ekiti State Governor-elect Dr Kayode Fayemi has begun the process of rebuilding the state with his recent meetings with governors, ministers and development partners.

Daramola, an APC House of Representatives aspirant, who hailed the governor-elect’s move even before his assumption of office billed for next month, promised to work closely with Fayemi in restoring the state’s lost values, if re-elected.

The former lawmaker, who is Chief of Staff to Deputy House of Representatives Deputy Speaker, dismissed insinuations of frosty relationship with Fayemi, describing those behind such rumour as busy bodies.

He said: “Let me make it clear that if some people are just attaining the cadre of loyalty in Fayemi’s camp, I have moved up the cadre, I am now a devotee”.

Daramola, who described Fayemi as a leader who knows what to do and how to do it, said: “I must say that it is comforting and reassuring that Dr Fayemi is cut out for the job. When was the last time you hear of the outgoing governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, meeting with any minister or development partner?”

He admonished Ekiti people to keep faith with the incoming APC government as it would build on the enduring legacies laid between 2010 and 2014.

The lawmaker, who said the people of Oye/Ikole Federal Constituency needed an experienced and loyal party man for the job, said that the governor and indeed Ekiti State would leverage on his robust cognate and ancillary legislative experience to make the state move to the next level.

Daramola, who was adjudged as most productive federal lawmaker in Ekiti during the 7th National Assembly, said that he paraded the best credentials among other contenders, as he was reputed for moving over 40 motions, sponsored nine bills and co-sponsored 12 others, including the first motion moved on the floor of the 7th National Assembly.
