President Muhammadu Buhari, on Friday, wielded the big stick and sent the embattled Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen, packing.
The President suspended Onnoghen, who is standing trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, and swore in Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammed from Bauchi State, as acting CJN.
Bashir Ahmad, a media aide of the president, made the bombshell announcement on his Twitter page, on Friday.
Onnoghen’s suspension, it was learnt, was based on the order of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT.
