Contrary to the rumour in the mill before last Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections that the Anambra State governor Willie Obiano has secretly pledged to work for President Mohammadu Buhari to win the state, the result of the election reeled out by INEC at the International Conference Centre in Abuja on Tuesday morning showed a massacre of the APC by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) which polled 524,738 to APC’s paltry 33,298 votes.
Governor Obiano has been accused by the opposition of giving order to all civil servants in the state through the Director Generals and Permanent Secretaries in a text message that they must ensure that they vote for the APC. But the announced result showed that the rumour was a mere figment of some people’s imagination.
