Comptroller-General of Customs, Colonel Hameed Ali (retd) became the first person to react to the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari, early Wednesday morning, when he commended Nigerians for coming out in their numbers to re-elect the president for another four years at the saddle.

Ali, who was the agent of the All progressives Congress, APC, at the INEC national collation centre in Abuja,  said the emphatic victory that Nigerians gave Buhari in Saturday’s election, shows that the people appreciate what the president has done in the last four years.

” Nigerians have spoken,” the Customs boss said, adding: “and it is clear. It is natural for the opposition to react. When we lost in 2011, we did the same. We are grateful to the people.”

He said this after the national chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and chief returning officer, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, on Wednesday, declared him winner of the Saturday’s presidential election.

In the keenly contested election,  Buhari polled 15,191,847  to beat former vice president Atiku Abubakar who had 11,262,978
