In a rare show of sportsmanship, People’s Democratic Party Gubernatorial candidate in last Saturday’s Gubernatorial Election, Prince Buruji Kashamu, visits the Governor-Elect, Prince Dapo Abiodun, at his Iperu Remo country home on Monday.
Kashamu, has conceded defeat, saying he lost the election due to the distraction of the court battles to claim his party ticket. Kashamu said the APC governorship candidate, Dapo Abiodun, won the election because he had the backing of the Federal Government and a national leader of the party, Bola Tinubu, whom he described as a “political generalissimo.”
The Senator had in a statement on Sunday issued by his aide, Austin Oniyorkor, Kashamu said as a good Muslim, he had accepted the results as the will of God.
He said, “Yes, it was a struggle against arbitrariness, injustice and the overbearing attitude of some of our political actors. We put in our best. But, from the outcome of the election, our best was not good enough.”
