After 10 days of private visit to London, President Muhammadu Buhari returned to the country on Sunday.
His plane landed at about 6.33p.m. at the Presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, and was welcomed by some members of the top echelon of his administration.
They included: his Chief of Staff, Mallam Abba Kyari, some ministers, including the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Malam Muhammed Bello, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai and the acting Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Muhammed Adamu.
Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ibrahim Magu, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, and other presidential aides, were also on hand to welcome the president back home.
Though he spoke briefly to State House correspondents after airport ceremonies, he refused to confirm or deny if his travel had anything to do with speculations of his new cabinet, or whether he, indeed, had selected his team to achieve his administration’s mantra of NEXT LEVEL.
“I wouldn’t tell you,” was the president’s automatic answer to the questions.
Meanwhile, Buhari, also, on Sunday, called for the continued peace, progress and prosperity of Nigeria, as Muslims begin the month-long Ramadan on Monday.
The president’s message came on Sunday night following the news of the sighting of the lunar month of Ramadhan.
He noted that Islam is a religion of peace that upholds the values of tolerance and mutual coexistence without a place for hatred and violence.
He, therefore, urged Muslims to use the fasting period to build a relationship of friendship and harmony with fellow citizens of other faiths.
Buhari prayed to Allah for the continued peace, progress, and the well-being of the country.
