Keeping with President Muhammadu Buhari’s promise to make today’s inauguration ceremony low key, today’s event will last only one hour, 15 minutes.
Although the Presidential Inauguration Committee fixed the event at 8a.m., the programme starts at 10.00a.m. when the president arrives The Eagle Square, the whole event will end at 11.15 a.m.
And, unless the president changes his mind, there will be no inaugural speech. President Buhari and the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, who is already at the venue, will take their oath of office.
The oath will be administered on the president and his vice by the acting Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad.
The President has just arrived The Eagle Square, Abuja.
