 We Spent N108m on Projects Execution in Delta in 2018, 174 Youths Benefited, Says Shell

Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited ( SPDC) has said that a whopping sum of N108 million was spent on Projects execution in Delta State in 2018, stressing that 174 youths benefited under the period reviewe

The General Manager, External Relations, Igho Weli who spoke to Journalists in Asaba on Monday, said SPDC Joint venture ( JV) would continue to embark on programmes that would galvanize the economic growth of Delta State, disclosing that the global Oil multinational Company had ongoing projects and social investment schemes in the state

He said that the SPDC’s health in motion Programme spent N5.8m to provide health care intervention to 5,746 persons in 2018 , adding that 832 Persons with impaired vision also received eye glasses,as well as N417m spent on beneficiaries of the Cradle to Career Programme.

“SPDCJV has strong commitment to the development of Delta and Nigeria through its delivery of Positive Social outcomes and Strong relationships with stakeholders and communities, and each year we provide training and Finance for talented young enterpreneurs to set up and grow their businesses,” Weli said

According to him,SPDC JV in 2018 spent more than N390m on developments of projects in its Global Memorandum of Understanding ( GMoU) Cluster on roads, schools among others in the state,174 youths benefited from the Special Regional Shell Liverwire Programme Since 2013, and the sum of N108m was given to beneficiaries as startup grant in 2018″,
