Togolese Protest Against Gnassigbe’s Government in Lagos

Thousands of Togolese on Thursday stormed Lagos to protest againt their president, Faure Gnassigbe. The protested converged at the Onikan area.

The men and women, many of whom came from Togo for the protest, said they wanted an end to the government of Faure Gnassigbe, who is seeking a fourth term.

They said they had been ruled by the Gnassigbe family for over 59 years.

They are seeking help from the Economic Community of West African States in Lagos, Nigeria.
