Things may have fallen apart between the governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu and his Deputy, Hon Agboola Ajayi over the 2020 gubernatorial slots in the All Progressive Congress, APC.
The bone of contention, according to a release by a group of young politicians in the state is the palpable fear that Governor Akeredolu may likely drop the deputy as his running mate in 2020 if the former picks the ticket.
The APC National Youth Awarenes Forum, Ondo State chapter on Wednesday pointed accusing fingers at the deputy governor Hon Agboola Ajayi that he is fond of inciting people against the government he is serving just because he is afraid that he would be dropped by the governor in 2020.

“We hereby appeal to him (Ajayi) and others who are on the same boat with him to stop discrediting the government at all times. We are worried because we have it on good authority and we are prepared to present evidences that the deputy governor has recruited some social media mercenary writers to publish unsubstantiated allegations and comments against the government, especially the governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu SAN.
“Of particular note is last week’s careless Facebook post by the deputy Governor’s former political aide who addressed the wife of the deputy Governor as acting first lady. We believe it was a planned work if not the deputy governor would have rebuked him before the governor took action by sacking him.
“Rather than keep quite that one of his antics had been exposed, the deputy governor went through one hand to mouth lawyer to cast aspersions on the person of the governor not knowing that the leave of the governor had expired since on the 4th of October. Our question is; why did the deputy Governor not publicly say his boss has finished his leave.
“The said lawyer has held several meetings with the deputy governor and promises were made to him that he would be paid handsomely if he can help the deputy governor and his cabal within the Cabinet fly fake documents on the social media space to discredit the government.
“Again when the committee on floods was constituted to assess the floods in the riverside local government areas of Ese-Odo and Ilaje, the same deputy governor incited same labour lawyer to write rubbish. And because the deputy Governor was enjoying the publications he didn’t say anything to discourage the lawyer..
“It is sad that the deputy governor could incite his aides to portray that the governor’s mother’s town in Apoi has been submerged by flood just to incite the people against him.
“We know all your antics and we shall expose you soonest. If the deputy governor cared about his people he would not have been the sole contractor for the roads in OSUSTECH, Sabomi Ajagba which is over N600 million and over 15 contracts which he has cornered to himself through his companies, SIGNO FRED, DONFRAT and a host of others that we will release very soon and their contract sums of various projects. Please wait for your time Mr desperate deputy governor , the dribbler who is playing on our collective intelligence.
