KwaZulu-Natal province in South Africa made history, Friday,as being the first place to legally marry three homosexual males.

The marriage took place Friday as a mixed day for the LGBT community as the most unique and first of it’s kind marriage was observed in KZN, Durban.

Three men were married and their first of a kind certificate was issued by home affairs KwaZulu-Natal.

In South Africa polygamy is legal and it is more prevalent in the KwaZulu-Natal province.

Even though polygamy is legal, many South Africans are confused and surprised by the marriage. Many people including some other homosexual people do not approve of polygamy in South Africa.

The couple was so happy leaving the home affairs offices when they were greeted by our field guy Travis. When asked when will the marriage ceremony be they said it would be out of the country and very private.

Same sex marriage in South Africa has been legal since the Civil Union Act came into force on 30 November 2006. South Africa was the fifth country, the first and as of August 2019 only in Africa to legalise same sex marriage
