A mild drama ensued outside a Federal High Court in Abuja, which, Thursday, ordered the Department of State Services, DSS, to release the detained publisher of Sahara Reporters and convener of #RevolutionNow, Omoyele Sowore within 24 hours.

As the court session progressed, some half-clad women laid siege to the court premises, demanding the immediate release of the detained activist and his co-accused, Olawale Bakare.

The placard-bearing elderly women drove home their point, baring their brassieres.

The Crest learnt that the women, who called themselves “concerned mothers”, stormed the nation’s capital, Wednesday night, in several buses, having travelled all the way from Kiribo, Sowore’s homestead in Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

They carried placards with inscriptions like: “Sowore is not a criminal”; “Respect court order”.

Insisting that “our son is not a criminal”, the women asked President Muhammadu Buhari to order the immediate and unconditional release of Sowore from the detention camp of the Department of State Services, DSS.
