President Muhammadu Buhari, Tuesday, forwarded the name of Mr. Edward Adamu for confirmation as the new chairman of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria, AMCON.
Buhari’s letter implies the end for Mr. Muiz Banire who was appointed as chairman of the organisation in July 2018 and confirmed by the Senate in October 2018.
The sudden change in the AMCON’s top job, according to the President, is in obedience to the provision of the AMCON Act which stipulates that the organisation’s chairman must be appointed from the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Deputy Governors.
