The Supreme Court has, on Tuesday, stood down judgment in the suit challenging the election of Governor Emeka Ihedioha of Imo State.

The apex court had on Monday adjourned the case to Tuesday but announced the decision while hearing the appeal filed by the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the March 9 election, Senator Ifeanyi Ararume.

Senator Ararume filed the appeal to challenge Governor Ihedioha’s election after he lost at the Imo State Governorship Election Tribunal and the Court of Appeal.

Meanwhile, anxiety continued to grip residents of Imo State as the victory of Emeka Ihedioha from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is also being challenged by Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC). While the APC and the PDP have expressed the confidence that their candidates would win the case, many politicians and residents of the state are anxious ahead of the verdict due to the recent prediction by Rev Father Ejike Mbaka who had said in his prophecy that Uzodinma will take over reins of leadership in the state from the incumbent PDP-led government of Ihedioha.
