Photo of UNILAG Graduate, 21, who Jumped into Lagos Lagoon Revealed

The full identity, including photo, of the 21-year-old Quantity Surveying fresh graduate of the University of Lagos, UNILAG, who allegedly committed suicide by plunging into the Lagos Lagoon, last Saturday, February 16, 2020, has been released.

Toju Davies Daibo, 21, had reportedly boarded an Uber car from his 17, Sosanya Street, Gbagada Soluyi, Lagos residence, and headed to Victoria Island.  But he reportedly halted the driver around the Adeniji Adele interchange on the Third Mainland Bridge, complaining about stomach upset.

Then, he reportedly jumped into the lagoon, leaving the driver shell-shocked.

Five days after her son took the fatal plunge, the distraught mother of the suicide man, told Channels Television, in an exclusive interview, that Toju had no history of depression or drug abuse.

She also revealed that the young man had just concluded his Quantity Surveying degree programme at the School of Environmental Studies, University of Lagos, and was looking forward to his call-up for the mandatory one-year national youth service programme with excitement. After the national service, he planned to migrate to Canada for his Master’s degree.

The bereaved mother, in the interview, made a passionate plea to the government and relevant security agencies to bring out her son dead or alive.

The family of the deceased also implored the general public to help them with relevant information that could lead to the body’s retrieval which, they hoped, would help bring the tragedy to a closure.
