Ondo Guber: Gov. Aiyedatiwa, 15 Aspirants, to Collect Clearance Certificates Monday

Six days to the primary election to select a candidate that will fly the flag  of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the November 2024 gubernatorial poll in Ondo State, all 16 ticket aspirants will throng the party’s  national secretariat in Abuja, on Monday, to collect their certificates of clearance.

According to the Punch newspaper, the Deputy Organising Secretary of the party, Nze Chidi Duru, dropped the hint in a phone chat Sunday evening.

“Yes, all the aspirants (Ondo) will be coming to the party secretariat tomorrow for their certificate of clearance,” the paper quoted Duru as saying. “They are expected to be here by 4.00 p.m. and I am aware they have all been informed.”

Similarly, the newspaper further reported that the state chapter of the party will, the same Monday, hold a delegate congress in its 18 local government areas ahead of Saturday’s primary election.

The development comes three days after all the 16 political gladiators were cleared to contest the April 20 primary election.

The cleared aspirants are: Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, business mogul and senator representing Ondo South district, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim; Chief Olusola Oke, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria; Prof. Francis Faduyile, former President of Nigerian Medical Association, NMA; Dr Funmi Waheed-Adekojo, a mechanical engineer; and Chief Isaac Kekemeke, APC National Vice Chairman (South West).

Others are Akinfolarin Samuel, Okunjimi Odimayo, Adewale Akinterinwa, Olugbenga Edema and Gen. Ohunyeye Olamide, Morayo Lebi, Garvey Oladiran Iyanjan and Ifeoluwa Oyedele.
