COVID-19: Controversial Thai King Isolates with 20 Women

King Maha Vajiralongkorn, also known as Rama X, of Thailand, has allegedly checked in an entire luxury hotel in Germany for himself and a harem of 20 women, with numerous servants, for self-isolation.

The highly controversial king revealed how he intended to keep himself busy during self-isolation, even as a larger part of the globe goes into lockdown to forestall the spread of COVID-19.

According to reports from The Times, the flamboyant king has not addressed his country since February.

With an entourage of over 200 persons, including 20 ladies, the 67-year-old king intends to keep himself busy while in isolation.

According to the German tabloid, Bild, there isn’t a certainty that Rama X’ four wives are living with him in the luxurious hotel.

Bild reported that the Grand Hotel Sonnenbichl, the beacon of the small resort town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, has been fully occupied by the eccentric king, after “special permission” to be lodged in the hotel.

With several luxurious houses around the world, including a $12 million home in Germany, Rama X ostentatious lifestyle is infamous back in his country.

Reportedly, 119 members of his entourage have been sent back to Thailand on suspicion that they have been infected with COVID-19.

Such is the dictatorial rule of Rama X, that criticising or insulting him could land you in jail for 15 years.

Thailand has also borne the brunt of the pandemic coronavirus, having recorded 1,524 cases and 9 deaths in general.
