COVID-19: Only Three LGAs Do Not Have Any Coronavirus Case

Lagos State has revealed that there is no confirmed case of coronavirus in three local government areas in the state.

This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi in a situation report of coronavirus, Saturday, in the state.

The three local government areas which have not recorded the virus include Ajeromi/Ifelodun, Epe and Ojo Local Government Areas. Meanwhile, the other 17 LGAs have recorded cases.

He said, “Looking at the local government distribution of cases, the majority of cases are in the Lagos Mainland, followed by Eti-Osa and running closely behind is Ikeja and we are beginning to see a bit of activity in Alimosho.

“Surulere – 6, Somolu – 8, Oshodi/Isolo – 7, Mushin – 7, Lagos Mainland – 107, Lagos Island – 2, Kosofe – 11, Ikorodu – 4, Ikeja – 41, Ifako/Ijaiye – 2, Ibeju Lekki – 1, Eti Osa – 85, Badagry – 2, Apapa – 2, Amuwo Odofin – 5, Alimosho – 15, and Agege – 1.”

The Commissioner said that according to statistics, 70 per cent of the total cases are males while 30 per cent are females.

He said, “23 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in Lagos. The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Lagos is now 309.

“4 COVID-19 patients were discharged as at 18th of April bringing the total discharged cases to 94.

“14 deaths have been recorded, two patients have been evacuated and three patients have been transferred.”

“Let’s observe social distancing and stay home to stop the transmission of COVID-19 infection.”
