Nigeria Records Highest Daily Coronavirus Cases, As Total Sweeps Past 18,000

Nigeria, Thursday, recorded the highest daily number of cases of coronavirus in the country.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, in a tweet, on its official Twitter handle, revealed that 745 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed on Thursday.

In its report, Lagos remains the epicentre of the virus, recording 280 new cases, while Oyo state closely follows with 103 new cases.

Imo state recorded 46 new cases which is a new high for the state’s daily cases report.

According to the report, the total number of confirmed cases in the country is 18,480, with 307 patients healed and reunited with the society. Unfortunately, the country has now recorded 475 fatalities in all.

The tweet reads: “745 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-280 Oyo-103 Ebonyi-72 FCT-60 Imo-46 Edo-34 Delta-33 Rivers-25 Kaduna-23 Ondo-16 Katsina-12 Kano-10 Bauchi-8 Borno-7 Kwara-5 Gombe-4 Sokoto-2 Enugu-2 Yobe-1 Osun-1 Nasarawa-1 18,480 confirmed 6,307 discharged 475 deaths.”
