These are apparently bad times for Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu as the Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Mr. Ifedayo Abegunde, resigned his appointment, Monday morning. .
Abegunde, popularly known as Abena, tendered his resignation letter at a time when the governor is in self-isolation receiving treatment having tested positive for COVID-19 last week.
He did not wait for him to recuperate before he dropped his resignation letter.
Mr Abegunde, in the resignation letter, did not give any reason for his decision but wished the governor quick recovery insisting that the reason is personal..
All efforts to make him open up proved abortive except that he added that he had tried his best for the Governor Rotimi Aleredolu-led government and it was time for him to leave.
His words: “I have resigned from the government and I am no longer a member of the cabinet.
“I will make further comment when the time is ripe for me to talk on resignation.”
