A principal witness has told the Federal High Court in Abuja how audio and video recordings were made of the interactions between embattled ex-Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani and a businessman, Alhaji Sani Dauda, who accused Sani of obtaining $25,000 from him under false pretence.
Dauda’s son, Mohammed, gave details of how he set up devices on two occasions to record what transpired between his father and Sani when the senator returned the money and begged for forgiveness.
Mohammed was testifying as the seventh prosecution witness in Sani’s trial on a two-count charge in which he was accused by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of obtaining $25,000 from Dauda, the Chairman of ASD Group of Companies, under false pretence.
