429 Patients Recover, As Nigeria Records 216 Fresh COVID-19 Cases

Nigeria has reported 216 new cases of coronavirus in the country, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed.

In a thread of tweets on Wednesday, the nation’s health agency revealed the the new cases we’re recorded in 17 states across the country, with Plateau yet again with the highest cases—59, followed by Rivers with 27 cases, Abia with 20 cases, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with 15 cases and Lagos with 20 new infections.

Others are Oyo – 18, Enugu – 17, Kaduna – 11, FCT – 11, Ogun – 10, Ebonyi – four, Osun – four, Ekiti – four, Delta – three, Edo – three, Akwa Ibom – two, and Bauchi – one.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country since Nigeria reported its first infection in February to 54,463.

The number of fatalities saw an increase by 4, raising the death toll to 1,027.

On a brighter side, the country has seen the discharged patients increase to 42,439 after 429 patients were certified healthy and discharged from various isolation centres in the country, to rejoin their families.
