The eldest surviving child and daughter of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, passed on today. She would have been 80 this December.
Revd Mrs Omotola Oyediran, according to a reliable source, died after a very brief illness.
She is survived by her husband and one-time vice chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode Oyediran of Offa in Kwara State, children, grandchildren as well as her only sister, Ambassador Tokunbo Awolowo-Dosunmu.
Mrs Oyediran was until her death the chairman of African Newspapers of Nigeria plc, publishers of the Nigerian Tribune and its stable mate, Sunday Tribune.
