Hon. Philip Shekwo, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who was abducted from his home by some yet-to-be-identified gunmen, Saturday night, will never return home.
This is because the chairman, who was kidnapped from his home in Karu, has been found dead.
The chairman of Karu Local Government area of Nasarawa State, Hon. Samuel Akala, and a family source confirmed the tragic event to journalists on Sunday.
He kidnapped from his home in the late hours of Saturday, according to the police.
The Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Dele Longe, had confirmed Hon. Shekwo’s abduction on Sunday.
The gunmen, reportedly stormed the home of the deceased LG Chairman in “large number”, shooting wildly before taking the politician away. The criminals reportedly stole cash and valuables before making away with their victim. and cash before leaving with the chairman.
The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Dele Longe, confirmed the incident to journalists in Lafia, the state capital.
He said Mr Shekwo was abducted from his Bukan Sidi residence around 11 p.m. on Saturday.
He also said he has deployed the police to comb the various forests and flashpoints in the state to ensure his release.
Kidnappings of high profiled individuals have become rampant in Lafia, the state capital and hometown of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.
