Several properties have been razed after a petrol tanker exploded in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital on Tuesday morning.
Pandemonium was let loose at about 8:00 a.m. when the petrol tanker lost control and crashed into a commercial avenue, spilling its content.
A motorcyclist was killed during the accident, Peoples Gazette reported, adding that the tanker driver was cruising above the speed limit before the crash.
Dozens of vehicles were reportedly razed in the ensued inferno.
Fire service officials raced to the scene of the incident, to quench the fire.
