Three Jukun fishermen have been arrested by the police in connection with last Saturday’s attack on convoy of Benue Governor Samuel Ortom along Tyo Mu, Makurdi.
Security Adviser to Ortom, Col. Paul Hemba, confirmed the arrest while conducting newsmen round the scene of the attack on Tuesday.
Hemba stated the police team found the fishermen close to the scene of the attack and are being investigated.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari and Benue Governor Samuel Ortom met on Tuesday.
The meeting, which purpose was not stated, may not be unconnected with the attack on Ortom’s convoy by gunmen suspected to be herdsmen while on a visit to his farm on Saturday.
