Former Resident Consultant of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Related Offences Commission, ICPC, and publisher of the Newspot online newspaper, Sir Folu Olamiti, would, on Sunday, December 19, 2021, be honoured with a fellowship award by the Board of Trustees of the Diamond Awards for Media Excellence, DAME.
A member of the DAME Board, Mr. Lanre Idowu, conveyed the good news to Sir Olamiti, via a letter, stating that the chairman of the Advent Cable Network Nigeria, ACNN, the Televangelism arm of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), was being honoured for his “positive contributions to the development of Nigerian Journalism.”
Olamiti will receive the special recognition at a gala that will hold at MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos, on Sunday, December 19, 2021.
An elated Sir Olamiti, who turned 70 on November 30, 2021, told The Crest that he was “happy and grateful” that he was being so honoured by a reputable organisation like DAME
“I thank God who made all things possible at his own appointed time,” Olamiti, a Fellow of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, NGE, said. “To be so recognised among the many thousands of journalism practitioners that Nigeria is blessed with means a lot to me. And I’m not taking it for granted. Thank you, DAME.”
