Former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has condemned last weekend’s attack on the Imo State residence of the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Prof. George Obiozor, describing it as “daring and obnoxious.”

The country home of the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo,  at Awo-Omanma in Oru East Local Government Area, was torched by some yet-to-be arrested assailants in the morning of Saturday, March 19, 2022.

Though the attack was huge and devastating, there was casualty, according to the Imo State Command of the Nigeria Police Force.

Atiku, in a press release by his media office in Abuja, on Monday, said the “attack further reinforces the need to firm up security across the country as a situation where elder statesmen become targets of incendiary attacks is inexcusable.”

The former Vice President, in the statement, sympathized with Prof. Obiozor and his family, and calls on relevant law enforcement agencies to speedily investigate the unfortunate incident with a view to apprehending and bringing the criminals to  justice.
