The coast seems clear for a second term in office for the high-performing governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, as the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Monday, approved his return to the Government House come 2023.
The GAC is the apex decision-making organ of the ruling in the state.
By Monday’s approval, Sanwo-Olu now has an express ticket to re-contest the governorship seat of Lagos in next year’s gubernatorial election.
Consequent upon the GAC approval, Sanwo-Olu will soon declare his ambition to retain his seat and collect his nomination forms.
The development came against the backdrop of a rumour making the round that some party bigwigs may be plotting to unseat the governor at the primaries.
But with yesterday’s development, Sanwo-Olu’s main opponent appears to be a governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr. Olajide Adediran, a.k.a. Jandor.
