The Ikale Heritage Development Association (IHDA) has commended the Governance Advisory Council of Lagos State for the endorsement of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for a second term in office.
The GAC, the Apex body of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State on Monday endorsed the governor for a second term..
Commending the GAC’s foresight, chairman of the Ikale Heritage Development Association, Otunba Sola Olatunji said the seal has put to rest speculations whether the governor will seek second term or not.
“The IHDA commends the Lagos GAC for this initiative,” Olatunji said. “Governor Sanwo-Olu has done so well in Lagos. Denying him a second term would have been travesty of Justice. But the GAC read the minds of Lagosians correctly.”
The seal of approval came after a meeting held by the body at the State House, Marina, but Olatunji said all hands must be on deck now to ensure victory for the governor at the May 27 Lagos APC primaries.
“The battle has just started,” Olatunji said. “We have to work our fingers to the bones to make sure that Governor Sanwo-Olu comes top at the primaries. Picking the second term ticket will be the icing on the cake.
Meanwhile, it is aparent that no other aspirant from APC had shown interest to contest the seat with Governor Sanwo-Olu which the chairman of the socio-cultural group described as good omen.
He enjoins Lagosians both in APC and PDP to endorse Sanwo-Olu as their consensus candidate just like that of Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State where all the political parties have picked him as their candidate.
