Davido’s Son from Chioma, Ifeanyi Is Dead, Drowns In Dad’s Swimming Pool

There viral yet unconfirmed reports in the wee hours of Tuesday, November 1, 2022, that tragedy had struck music superstar, Davido, and his fiancee, Chioma Rowland, as their three-year-old son, Ifeanyi, was said to have drowned in the star’s swimming pool at his residence at Banana Island, Lagos.

The Punch newspaper, which published the sad story in its online edition, Tuesday morning, cited “unconfirmed reports” that hinted at the boy’s tragic demise after allegedly drowning in the swimming pool.

The newspaper further reported that the three-year-old was reportedly rushed to a hospital in the Lekki area of the state, in a bid to save him. But he was reportedly confirmed dead by one of the doctors on duty.

The Punch further reported that the superstar and his family were yet to speak on the tragedy as at the time of its report.
However, the newspaper reported that the news of the boy’s rumoured demise was leaked on social media, late Monday, by Nollywood actress, Eniola Badmus; adding that the post had been deleted perhaps following public outrage against Badmus for leaking such sensitive and tragic information about the minor.

According to report, the three-year-old victim, after being pulled out of the swimming pool, was reportedly rushed to a hospital in the Lekki area of the state, where he was confirmed dead.

The victim’s family had yet to react to the tragic development but since the news of Ifeanyi’s rumored death became public knowledge, Nigerians, particularly entertainment lovers, had been outraged, traumatised  and expressing deep shock.

Top  celebrities have posted cryptic messages that appear to confirm the death of Ifeanyi. Comedians Ayo Makun and Lasisi Elenu, radio personality Daddy Freeze among others are few of the celebrities that have reacted

Makun, in an Instagram post early Tuesday, wrote, “The death of a child is unnatural, unfair, and tragic, this hit me so bad.”

Daddy Freeze, who went live on Instagram in the early hours of Tuesday morning said, “When the person you love is someone involved it becomes a heavy emotional burden. I am not confirming anything but bear with me I will not be live tonight.”

Lasisi Elenu also posted, “Father heal your children’s heart from this pain, strengthen them in such a dark and hurtful time oh Lord.”

Reality TV star and actress, Rosemary Afuwape, said on her Instagram story, “My heart can’t take this. This is so painfully unbearable. Chioma and Davido please accept my condolences. No amount of words can comfort your hearts. I am truly sorry for your loss.”
