The standard bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar admitted his party is corrupt, but noted that the ruling All Progressives Congress is more corrupt.
Atiku told the Voice Of America that Nigeria fared better under the PDP between 1999 and 2015 than the APC since 2015..
“If you look at all the economic parameters, security, peace, prosperity Nigeria has fared far better under PDP than the APC.
“But we have come to realise that the APC is even more corrupt than PDP.
“I will remind them of the prosperity that we brought to the country between 1999 and 2007 and then also the poverty, insecurity and instability the APC has brought since they came into office,” he said.
He also said he’s not bothered by the popularity of Peter Obi, his former vice-presidential candidate in the 2019 election who is now the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party.
He added that only some youths in a few areas in the southeast are supporting Obi.
“No absolutely not, it doesn’t worry me because the demography of the youths varies from region to region and it is not in all regions of the country that the proponents of youths are moving towards Labour, maybe in some few areas in the southeast,” he said.
