Atiku, Obi on Worst Political Nightmare for Going to Election Petition Tribunal -Fayose

Fayose

Former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, has warned defeated presidential candidates of the People’s Democratic Party, Abubakar Atiku and his Labour Party counterpart, Peter Obi,  of an exercise in futility by approaching the election petition tribunal to challenge the victory of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, in the February 25 election.

“Anyone who believes they can remove President-elect Tinubu is just putting themselves through a nightmare,” Fayose said.

PDP’s Atiku Abubakar and the LP’s Peter Obi both filed formal petitions at the presidential elections tribunal in Abuja on Tuesday contesting the declaration of Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the country’s next president.

Obi earned 6,101,533 votes, Atiku Abubakar 6,984,520, and Tinubu 8,794,726 votes according to the Independent National Electoral Commission while delaring Tinubu as winner.

In response to those attempting to overturn the  INEC decision, Fayose stated that such an endeavour would be fruitless. He claims that since the elections are over, these people are only daydreaming.

Fayose stated: ‘’I am not desperate for an appointment. I have been governor twice. I am contented but for anybody to say he will unseat Ahmed Bola Tinubu, you are daydreaming. It is a nightmare you are putting yourself through. That election has come and gone.
