Some daredevil bandits stormed and attacked the Nasarawa-Burkullu community in Zamfara State, late Friday, and abducted the four people, including the village head, a local official disclosed on Saturday.
A report by Reuters said the victims, according to the local official, Muhammad Bukuyum, included three farmers, and that the yet-to-be-identified gunmen had demanded a ransom.
The official did not give further details.
Armed bandits, Reuters recalled, had been wreaking havoc across northwest Nigeria in recent years, kidnapping thousands, killing hundreds and making it unsafe to travel by road or to farm in some areas.
