Air Peace has been in the news of late. The best, for me, is the news of the celebration, this week, of its 10th anniversary.
As an Air Peace Ambassador, I decide to check things out. I dust up my ambassadorial shirt and head to London.
It is the smoothest flight I have ever been on, going in and out of London. Passing through immigration at Gatwick airport is the fastest I have also ever experienced even with a visitor’s visa. Gatwick is ten times less-crowded than Heathrow.
The train ride to Victoria Station in London is short, smooth, and fast, traveling through beautiful, green countryside.
The ground and onboard services in Lagos and London are superb, the flights are smooth and on time, both ways. The aircraft is glittering, its cabin interior clean, spacious and ‘very very’ comfortable, a taste of the luxury of a Boeing 777.
On-board entertainment is a great advertisement for Nigerian movies. The food and refreshments are proudly and tastefully Nigerian.
Nothing of the brouhaha of recent obscure allegations dug up from the archives has affected anything in Air Peace services.
As the end-of-year holiday period approaches, I urge Nigerians to be patriotic and patronize their own, celebrating and acknowledging an airline that has been a source of pride to the country and Africa for 10 unblemished years.
Let’s fly Air Peace to and fro London. It’s a breeze!
