Former Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, Major General Chris Jemitola (rtd) has died doing what he loved best, playing golf.

The General, according to Family sources, died after collapsing at the IBB International Golf and Country Club, in Abuja, on Thursday morning.

He was said to have been rushed to the hospital shortly after he slumped and was pronounced dead on arrival.

The cause of General Jemitola’s sudden death remained hazy as at press time.

Edward Buba, former Director of Defence Media Operations, also confirmed General Jemitola’s passing.

Jemitola served as Obasanjo’s ADC from 2003 to 2007 as a Colonel, a position he was said to have demonstrated unwavering dedication and professionalism.

He rose steadily in his chosen profession, becoming the Director of Defence Information, and later became Defence Attaché at the Nigerian Embassy in Brazil.

Before his retirement, Jemitola was Chief of Policy and Plans (COPP) in the Nigerian Army, where his strategic expertise played a vital role in shaping military operations.

After his retirement, he went into the private sector where he, among other responsibilities, served as a Senior Advisor for Military Communications at Pinnacle Communications Limited as of 2019.

General Jemitola’s Family is yet to issue a formal statement on his sudden demise.

The Crest condoles with the bereaved Family while wishing the departed General a sweet repose in the bosom of the Lord.
