Tinubu Corrects Another Omission in June 12 Honours’ List, Confers CFR on Col. Dangiwa

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Thursday, in Kaduna, made another amendment to the national honours list he reeled out last Democracy Day, June 12, 2025, confering the national honour of the Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) on a democracy activist and former Governor of Kaduna State, Col. Abubakar Dangiwa Umar.

During the visit in which he eulogised the state governor, Senator Uba Sani, for his developmental strides in the state, President Tinubu recalled his longstanding relationship with friends in the state, and used the using the visit to confer the national honour on the June 12 activist, Col. Dangiwa.

“I am happy to be back here,” Tinubu declared. “I share a very longstanding and admirable commitment with Kaduna State in politics, business and pursuit of democracy.

“Today, many people are here to receive us, and some are not here. Let me use this opportunity to correct an omission that I made during the democracy day honouring of some Nigerians.

“I missed out the name of Col. Abubakar Dangiwa Umar. I now have the honour of awarding him Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR).”
