As the nation’s major political parties continue to rev their engines preparatory to 2027 general elections, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Monday evening, met the state chairmen of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), from the 36 states of the federation and the FCT, at his Abuja residence.

The former Vice President announced the meeting himself on his social media platforms, revealing that the delegation was led by Kogi State Chairman, Hon. Ogga Temitope Kingsle, who, Atiku said “expressed joy that I am finally a bonafide member of the party. I am glad, too, that I formally registered.”

Atiku told his guests that there was “no time to waste in our rescue mission and encouraged other members and leaders of the coalition to register with the ADC formally. There can be no sitting on the fence.

“I am indeed pleased to see that leaders of the party at the state level are thinking with the future of our country in mind. Together, we are committed to our resolve to work towards a secure, united, and prosperous Nigeria.

“The APC is bent on wrecking our country, and we are ready to stop them from doing so.”

Meanwhile, the former Vice President has restated his rock solid support for Shehu Yohanna as the Acting/Interim Chairman of the Adamawa ADC.

Atiku Abubakar also urged all stakeholders of the ADC in Adamawa to work under the umbrella of the party in the state, led by Shehu Yohanna.

Similarly, the former Vice President endorsed the Sadiq Dasin-led Transition Team and urged it to work and collaborate with the Shehu-led state exco to achieve the core objective of sturdily planting the ADC in Adamawa.

Atiku’s position and charge to the Adamawa State ADC exco and Transition Team followed the closure of all legal issues with signed commitments by the key parties involved in Adamawa.

“I am particularly elated that we, in the Adamawa ADC family, are ending the year on a very positive note with the resolution of all extant issues. No house divided against itself can stand. To this end, I encourage both the Adamawa exco led by Shehu and the Dasin Transition Team to work together in establishing the ADC as the preferred political party of choice in Adamawa State,” Atiku said.

The Waziri Adamawa noted that in line with the directive of the Sen. David Mark led national executive of the ADC, there will be zero tolerance for all acts of indiscipline and insubordination.
