Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has criticised her colleague, Anita Joseph, following allegations that the latter used another person’s photograph and digitally edited her face into it.
The controversy began after content creator Caramel Plug accused Anita Joseph of reposting one of her photographs on social media.
According to Caramel Plug, the original image featured her dressed in a cream suit, coffee-brown tie, matching jacket and yellow shoes. She alleged that while the outfit and background remained identical, the image had been altered to replace her face with that of Anita Joseph.
The content creator further claimed that she attempted to express her displeasure in the comments section of the post, but her comments were repeatedly deleted.
The incident sparked widespread criticism on social media, prompting Anita Joseph to remove the disputed image and issue an apology.
The actress attributed the incident to an error generated by artificial intelligence (AI), insisting that there was no deliberate intention to use another person’s photograph.
Reacting to the controversy on her Instagram page, Angela Okorie strongly condemned her colleague’s actions, describing her as a “bad person” and what people refer to as a “complete yeyebrity”.
The actress questioned how a celebrity could allegedly use another person’s photograph and assume that the original owner would not notice.
Angela also claimed that several people have copied her fashion style over the years and later presented it as their own.
The latest social media dispute has generated fresh conversations about the ethical use of artificial intelligence and digital editing tools, particularly among celebrities and content creators who rely heavily on originality and personal branding online.
