Ilesa Grammar School Old Students Celebrate One of Their Own, Yinka Fasuyi, at 70

The Ilesa Grammar School Old Students Association, ILEGSOSA, has joined millions of Nigerians, especially Ijesas at home and in the diaspora, in celebrating the hefty contributions of Asiwaju Olayinka Fasuyi who turns 70 0n October 25, 2025.

The President/CEO of the Ibadan Business School, and Asiwaju of Ijesaland, is celebrating the milestone with a 9-day festival of colours, culture, music, philanthropic activities starting on Friday, October 17, to Saturday, October 25.

In the letter signed by the National President of the Ilesa Grammar School Old Students Association, Sir Obisesan Daramola, the association acknowledges the impacts made by Asiwaju Fasuyi on the general socio-economic developments of his immediate environment, Ilesa, and the larger Ijesaland society.

The association also notes with great delight Fasuyi’s contributions in  “providing scholarships, sponsorships, bursaries, financial supports, to students, not just in our Alma Mater, Ilesa Grammar school, but in all schools, in Ijesaland.”

On behalf of all old students of that Citadel of Learning, Ilesa Grammar School, both at home and all over the world, this is to felicitate with you, and to congratulate you on the auspicious occasion of your 70th birthday celebrations.  

Huge Congratulations. 

We cannot pretend to be unaware of your impacts on the general socio-economic developments of your environment, Ilesa, and the larger Ijesaland society. 

You have been providing scholarships, sponsorships, bursaries, financial supports, to students, not just in our Alma Mater, Ilesa Grammar school, but in all schools, in Ijesaland. 

You created a movement to work for the socio-economic upliftment of your entire Ijesaland environment. 

And, close friends and colleagues extol your leadership style displaying the typical Omoluabi traits of humility, transparency and accountability.  

The general public remains astonished by your personal contributions, sacrifices and selflessness.  

We remember your support and solidarity during the 90th anniversary celebrations of the founding of our school, Ilesa Grammar School, 2024. 

For all and more, we appreciate you, we thank you. 

We are proud you are one of us.  

We pray that Almighty God will grant you good health in long life.
