‘I’m Tired’ – actress Ireti Doyle laments Insecurity, hardship as Lagos floods Worsen
Veteran Nollywood actress Ireti Doyle has expressed frustration over Nigeria’s worsening insecurity and economic hardship, saying the country’s recurring challenges have left her emotionally exhausted.
The actress made the remarks in reaction to the widespread flooding that affected several parts of Lagos State following heavy rainfall, leaving homes submerged, major roads impassable, and commercial activities disrupted.
In a post shared on her Instagram page on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, Doyle described the current situation as part of a recurring pattern rather than an isolated incident.
She warned Nigerians to pay close attention to unfolding events, suggesting that familiar responses would once again emerge amid the ongoing crisis.
“It’s not a prediction, it’s a pattern. Pay attention to patterns. You will recognize things as they unfold. We are here again. Oluwa, gba akoso,” she wrote.
The actress also alleged that periods of national crisis are often accompanied by increased manipulation and misinformation.
According to her, “the gaslighting and manipulation will hit an all-time high and voices will be louder” as the country grapples with its current challenges.
Doyle’s comments come as many Lagos residents continue to count their losses after heavy flooding inundated several communities across the state, disrupting transportation, damaging properties, and affecting businesses.
