Nigeria shall overcome insecurity-Oluremi Tinubu

The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has reassured Nigerians that with the continuing efforts of the Federal Government and its various security agencies, as well as collaboration with other nations, the challenge of insecurity currently roiling the nation would be surmounted.

The First Lady gave the assurance on Saturday during her visit to Ekiti State while meeting with the Ekiti State Traditional Rulers Council at the Government House, Ado Ekiti.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu assured that  President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was working tirelessly to ensure that issue of insecurity becomes a thing of the past.

Describing the issue of insecurity as highly disheartening, the First Lady said:

.‎”The US, for example, are helping. Most of the people causing this unrest are non-Nigerians. I can’t really say too much because some information are highly classified.

”But, I can assure you that America for instance is helping, France too is  helping and some other developed countries.

‎”Nigeria, because of her nature as a blessed country, you can see the beauty from Ekiti, Nigeria is too great to be intimidated.”

She expressed her belief that the challenges facing the country presently would end soon. She charged Nigerians,  especially women, to keep praying for the country, adding that God is faithful and never fails.
‎Earlier, the Chairman of the Ekiti Traditional Rulers Council, Oba Adu Adejimi Alagbado, the Ogoga of Ikere- Ekiti, had commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his various initiatives aimed at making life easy for Nigerians.
‎He expressed his deep belief in the leadership of President Tinubu as he recalled how the President transformed Lagos State while he was governor.

The Royal Father called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure that insecurity is curtailed citing how people are being kidnapped in the state and other states.

The First Lady then proceeded to give Business Recapitalisation Grant of N100 million to 2,000 female petty traders in Ekiti State at N50,000 each.

The grant, according to Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is to assist the women in supporting their families and for economic growth.

‎Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who was accompanied by the Wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima, the APC National Women Leader, Dr Mary Alile Idele, the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Imaan Sulaiman Ibrahim, also rallied support from the women in the state for a second term for Governor Oyebanji.

The Ekiti State First Lady, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji and wives of other state governors present, as well as other political leaders, also charged the people to support the incumbent governor in the upcoming election in June as well as President Tinubu for continuity come 2027.

Projects which the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has executed under the Renewed Hope Initiative, RHI, include: annual scholarships of ₦1 million, and laptop for 3-years for each student from the 36 states of the federation including the FCT; and DEPOWA with one of the students from Ekiti State.; ‎donation of 10,000 exercise books to public schools in Ekiti State in June, 2024.

Also, the First Lady’s project, RHI, in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Education, gave 5,100 bursary allowances in 2024 out of which Ekiti state received 100; and out of the 1,500 scholarships awarded in 2025, Ekiti got 40 slots for students in 200 Level up to Ph.D level.

That is not all. The First Lady also launched the Environment Club/Society in Ekiti State in November 2025.

‎Also, under the RHI Flow with Confidence, 10,000 packs of one year supply of sanitary pads were made to school girls in Ekiti State.

The First Lady also announced cash rewards of N200 million for two best graduating students ( a male and a female) from Ekiti State University after commissioning the TETFUND -sponsored ICT Experience Centre during her visit to the state.‎
